On Sunday I had the chance to stop in at the Plaza and take in the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers 30th Anniversary member night screening special. There were 14 short films from around Calgary. I purposefuly chose the event to catch a glimpse of our city through the eyes of some of our producers/directors.

All in all the evening was quite enjoyable, albeit some of the films were over my head. But alas, I want to remind all our visitors that yes, even filmmakers are artists and can get a blog with cgyart.ca. It's a great way to leverage your exposure!

The screening included the following:

Werewords (2009) by Alex Mitchell

Persephone (2007) by Cara Mumford

Be True to Yourself (2006) by Cheryl Blood-Bouvier

The Milk Crate Recovery Team (2005) by Christopher Markowsky

Reality Testing (2009) by Corey Lee and Sandi Somers

Brain, Heart, Super 8 (2007) by Luke Black

Freedom at Risk (2007) by James Reckseidler

The Secret Lives of Robots (2008) by Michael Peterson

City of Noise (2008) by Mitch Barany

A Graphic Life (2009) by Ramin Eshrajhi-Yazdi

Tangly Wood (2003) by Red Smarteez
